Drop-in Storytime

Parents are invited to drop in with their children for 30 to 40 minutes of exciting stories, crafts, and songs featuring a weekly theme. This summer session of storytime is held Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the St. John’s School Hall. Mark your calendars and join the fun on June 10, 17, July 1, 8 and 15. Registration is not required. Recommended for children age six and under. Use entrance 10, on the school parking lot side, to access St. John the Baptist School Hall. Recommended for age 6 and under. June 24th, we will be meeting at the gazebo.

Venetian Masks

Digital Photography Class

When: Wednesday, June 12, 2013 - 6:30 PM

Are you stuck on the “automatic” setting of your digital camera? Would you like to learn how to use all the program settings and features? Bring your DSLR, SLR or Hybrid camera or any camera that can go on Manual Control to Cantigny’s Education Center for a digital photography class with College of DuPage Photography instructor Frank Jackowiak. Frank will teach a two hour class that will include the most common functions and features of digital cameras: focus, zoom, shutter speed, ISO, resolution, white balance, and media cards. Once you are familiar with the camera features Frank will move on to key elements of taking better pictures: composition, depth of field, exposure, lighting. Class will end with some shooting time at Cantigny and feedback on the shots. Passes for parking at Cantigny will be available for those enrolled in the class. Registration required. Participants must bring their own digital camera (no cell phone cameras) with a fully charged battery, an empty SD or memory card and the camera’s instruction manual, if possible.

Butterflies: Magic in the Garden

Discover the many ways to attract butterflies to your garden. Learn about the butterfly life cycle, migration habits and plant preferences. Registration is encouraged but not required. Aboriginal Style Stone Painting

Cupcake Wars

Circus Boy FREE TICKETS AVAILABLE STARTING JUNE 3

Bobby Hunt, better known as “Circus Boy,” skillfully combines an unusual blend of acrobatic and comedic activities such as juggling, balancing on a ladder and riding the world’s smallest bike, which was showcased on Ripley’s Believe it or Not. Zen Gardens
