MyLibraryDV

As of December 31, 2009, the company providing MyLibraryDV downloadable videos is discontinuing this service.  If you have downloaded the MyLibraryDV program onto your home computer and need to uninstall it, please note, it may be listed as 'Permission TV' on your computer's programs menu.

 

Welcome to MyLibraryDV, a video on demand service that allows you to watch video content from your home computer using your Winfield Library card .

MyLibraryDV includes the following programs:

  • Movies
    • Classics
    • Foreign Films
    • Hollywood Favorites and World Cinema NEW!
    • Independent Films
    • Sony Pictures Entertainment NEW!
  • Cooking and Food (popular PBS programs like America’s Test Kitchen and Michael Chiarello’s Napa)
  • Health (alternative medicine; disease management and prevention)
  • How-To (Antiques Roadshow; home improvement)
  • Literature (author talks)
  • Travel (Globe Trekker; Rick Steves)

System Requirements:

  • A broadband internet connection
  • The most current version of your web browser
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows XP
  • 1 gigabyte of available hard drive space
  • Flash 9 and Windows Media 9 or higher

The download manager automatically detects and alerts you of any player upgrades necessary and will aid with their installation.  

Getting Started:

  • Click on the MyLibraryDV logo below.
  • Install the download manager. This is a one-time requirement that takes 2-4 minutes .

  • After downloading MyLibraryDV the first time, access the MyLibraryDV menu using the icons on your desktop or program listings.        

Viewing Your Program:

  • Browse the channels and choose a program to download.
  • Click “Download” and use your Winfield Library card number to logon (this number is found on the back of your library card, i.e. P76543). Your PIN is your last name.
  • The title will begin to download immediately. Within a few minutes a “Play” icon will appear and you can begin watching your program while the download completes.
  • If you want to watch a program you’ve already downloaded, click “My Downloads” on the left, click the play button next to the program you want to watch and enjoy!
