Children's Summer Reading Program

June 5 - July 22

Children's Summer Reading Guidelines

  • Starting June 5, you can go to the library’s Youth Services desk and pick up a reading log to take home.
  • Set a reading goal such as 20 minutes a day.
  • Each hour of reading/listening earns you a chance to win in the grand prize drawing. Parents may read to younger children.
  • Storytime participation, audio books and Tumblebooks count too!
  • Earn prizes as you read! Keep track of the hours you read and come to the library with your reading log to claim prizes and fill out your grand prize drawing tickets. Please add up the hours you’ve read before you come to the library.
  • Children age 6 and under: Read 10 hours and you will be rewarded with a prize from the treasure chest and a chance to win a Kindle Fire Kids Edition or a $50 Amazon gift card. Even after you’ve completed your 10 hours, you can keep reading for more chances to win a grand prize!
  • Children age 7 to grade 6: Read 20 hours, you will be rewarded with a prize from the treasure chest and a chance to win a Kindle Fire Kids Edition or a $50 Amazon gift card. Even after you’ve completed your 20 hours, you can keep reading for more chances to win a grand prize!
  • The last day to record your hours at the library is Saturday, July 22.
